Transorbital Dynamics were a research & development corporation created in Eve Online in September 2004. (The corporation was born out of Transorbital Ltd - a July 2003 corporation that I was briefly a member of and what sadly became extinct a few months after its inception due to in-fighting and corporate theft of its tech I blueprint collection by its CEO).
In late 2004 Transorbital Dynamics became a subsidiary of Ironopolis Engineering. Ironopolis Engineering constructed capital ships and their components, and sold all items under the guise of Transorbital Dynamics in and around Jita. This protected the Ironopolis infrastructure (which at the time consisted of numerous player owned stations and research labs anchored in low sec space bordering The Forge region of New Eden). Subsequently any sales of Ironopolis' items were always traced to Transorbital Dynamics so any extortion or war declarations made due to the nature of the items being traded were always declared against Transorbital - a purely "front" corporation with no infrastructure to protect and no active pilots (all its members were science & manufacture "alts" that never left the station and only logged in to start the next manufacturing and blue print copying process).
In August 2005 a second subsidiary was launched - New Transorbital Dynamics. This corporation expanded the Ironopolis portfolio and concentrated purely in Tech II missile manufacture - at one point churning out several hundred thousand Tech II missiles every manufacturing cycle. NTO had acquired two blue print originals for every type of tech II missile available at the time.
All three corporations continued working in tandem together in New Eden until around 2009 when the last of its members (me) left that gameworld forever.
As of early summer 2014 Transorbital Dynamics have now been reborn into the world of Elite: Dangerous - but this time purely as fictional entity used in the background story and video-blogs of Commander Erimus.
